Hostel Review in Singapore : 5footwayinn Project Boat Quay (English Article)

After read many article and ask everyone who has gone to Singapore finally I made a decision to stay in 5footwayinn Boat Quay. Me and friends decided to stay in one hostel along we are in Singapore for saving time. I got the recomandation for this Hostel from two friends, mbak Vika a senior traveller and Ega my friend in college. Both of them have a good taste for a nice place to stay because they are expert in travelling.

We booked in 5 August 2014, less than 3 weeks before we go to Singapore. We directly booked in their official web www.5footwayinn.com/links/project-boat-quay.html. But maybe if you want the lower price you can book earlier in promotional web like Agoda or the others. Our number was four so we booked the room for 4 people, in website I read that room for 4 people is the Superior room with window. So even its just a hostel the room is enough with the fresh scenery because our room have a window and the scenery absolutely great. We can see Singapore River and Marina Bay directly from our window. I think there are some point that you must know from this Hostel.

1. View

View is the one of my reason to stay in this Hostel because I can see the icon of Singapore directly, Marina Bay. You know my budget is not enough to pay the room in Marina Bay hostel so for now its enough to just see this from this Hostel. Beside the Marina Bay, you can enjoy the Singapore river scenery in bright and dark grey both of those view are absolutely great.

2. Location

 

Location is the one of the important thing why I choose to stay here although the rate of this Hostel actually expensive if we compare with the other hostel (even if we compare with the other project of 5footwayinn). 5footwayinn Boatquay adreessed in 76 Boatquay Singapura. The location near from Merlion Park, Cavenah Bridge and the others. We can go there in 10-15 minutes by food. The near MRT station is Raffles and Clarke Quay, if you want to go somewhere you can choose one of them, depend on your destination.

When you get out from Hostel, the right way is the Rafles MRT station and the left is Clarke Quay. Don’t forget to ask the receptionist before you go out, they can help you to choose the best way to go to your destination. This Hostel sell the Universal Studio ticket that cheaper from the original, the original price are SGD 74 but in this Hostel you can get SGD 70.

3. The Food  

5footwayinn Boatquay in Singapura provide bread, milk and fruits for free breakfast and there is no free lunch and dinner. But you don’t need to worry, close from the Hostel there is a Mc D that open for 24 hours. We can go there if we are hungry and when feel desperate to found the food that familiar with us and cheap (range price SGD 3-5). For muslim traveller, I am so sorry i forgot to find the halal label on that Mc D restaurant because i always thing that every Mc D in this world are the same. So when you go there, maybe you can check it for me. And if we have a doubt for the meat we can eat french fries and burger without the meat to fullfill the empty stomach.

Actually there many restaurant that near the Hostel and located in Singapore river side that promoted their food along the way. For me it’s really expensive but the important point that we have to try this is they said the food is halal (they said that because they saw me who wearing the scarf) and of course because the scenery is so well worth it. I try that one and for me the price is really expensive, for the example is the price of “cah kangkung” a traditional vegetable food from Indonesia is about SGD 20. Its really surprising because I can get that food with SGD 3 in good restaurant Indonesia and of course if I cooked it my self I just spend just 2 sen to buy the vegetable, can you imagine what expensive they are for me? Of course because it was Singapore not Indonesia, haha. But don’t need to worry because some of them sometime give us discount so we have to ask politely what the real price is after the discount.

4. The Rate

You can chek it directly to this Hostel web. For me when I count the rate for this Hostel the price actually wow, a quarter of my travelling budget is for this and I didnt regret this. Because for me the place and service are awesome. This is for the detail :

Note :

That price is for 4 people for 3 days

- For the Sunday, the rate is more expensive SGD 176 ( the weekdays is SGD 160)

- The price we have to pay when booking is USD 52,16

- And the rest SGD 436,48 we pay that when check in

When we arrive there wehave to pay again SGD 20 for deposit of the key, this money will return to us when we are leave the hotel for check out.
